Who loves a good smoothie?
I certainly do, but not when the weather is cold, it only chills me to my core so I end up sitting on the heater, fantasising about hot baths and puffer jackets.
But when the weather begins to warm up they are certainly back on the menu for me.
I like this one because of the addition of Turmeric. Not only is Turmeric very powerful anti inflammatory, but it is a warming spice, so it takes the edge off the freeze and warms you from the inside out.
MANGO & TURMERIC SMOOTHIE
Ingredients (makes one large smoothie)
1 frozen banana (or not frozen it doesn't matter we're making smoothie not a soufflé)
1/2 ripe mango peeled
1/2 cup coconut cream
2 cm slice of fresh turmeric
1 raw egg (hey don't freak out, mayonnaise is made of raw egg and we wolf that down with out question, just make sure they are organic free range eggs - pretty please - think of the poor chookies! )
1 cup filtered water
Method
Place all the ingredients into a blender and whizz it up for 20 - 30 seconds and you're done!
